My Gaming Story

    Zawsze lubiłem grać w gry, a moja historia i pierwsza styczność z grami video zaczęła się, gdy byłem  młodym chłopcem i na komunię otrzymałem pierwszą konsolę. To nie była konsola Playstation czy Xbox, wtedy jeszcze tych konsol nie było, mało kto posiadał komputer, a o internecie nawet nie wspomnę.

Były to konsole podłączane do odbiornika telewizyjnego, a gry były na dyskietkach, kartridżach.

    Jak dobrze pamiętam moją pierwszą grą na kartridżu było Mario, którego ogrywałem bardzo często, lecz nigdy nie ukończyłem tej gry,,dlatego że gra nie posiadała możliwości zapisu stanu gry. Pozyskiwanie nowych kartridży gier, też nie było proste i wygodne jak obecnie, gdzie mamy internet i różne platformy gamingowe i możemy bez problemu zakupić nową grę, ale wtedy były tylko dwie możliwości, aby zdobyć kartridż z grami. Jednym sposobem było pożyczenie bądź wymiana z kolegami lub zakup kartridża na targu u handlarzy. Ceny gier wahały się wtedy od 2 złotych do 5 za kartridż, lecz można było wytargować się i kupić taniej.

    Później przyszedł czas na komputer, który nie był potworem jak obecne maszyny gamingowe, jak dobrze sięgam pamięcią to posiadał kartę graficzną Geforce 2 i 512mb pamięci. Mega mocarna karta graficzna, prawda?, ale na tamte czasy jeśli ktoś posiadał podobną kartę lecz w wersji 1024mb to był królem w okolicy.

    No i oficjalną pierwszą grą na komputerze był saper i pasjans- gry, które były wbudowane następnie przyszedł czas na GTA 3 przyznam komputer miał nie lada problemy z poprawnym działaniem gry. Ledwo ledwo, ale na najniższych ustawieniach graficznych dało się pograć. Następnie przyszedł czas na Gothica od studia Piranha Bytes. Gra do, której wracam często za genialną fabułę, klimat oraz muzykę. (O gothicu powstanie osobny artykuł, który pojawi się niebawem.)

    Kolejnymi produkcjami były: Faraon i Kleopatra, Zeus pan Olimpu, Gothic 2 wraz dodatkiem Noc Kruka, a gdy już posiadałem internet czas przyszedł na Gothic 3 i pierwszą część Wiedźmina. Choć w międzyczasie też pojawiły się też gry sieciowe jak: Metin, Age of Wulin, a także przeglądarkowe jak Plemiona czy Travian. To są gry, które zainteresowały mnie całym światem gamingu i stały się pasją, którą chętnie się z Wami dzielę prowadząc tego bloga.

    Toby było tyle w tym temacie i oczekujcie na artykuł poświęcony grze Gothic, a w międzyczasie zapraszam do poprzednich postów.

My Gaming Story

    I've always liked playing games, and my history and first contact with video games began when I was a young boy and I received my first console for communion. It wasn't a Playstation or Xbox console, those consoles didn't exist yet, hardly anyone had a computer, and I won't even mention the Internet.

These were consoles that plugged into a television set, and the games were on floppy disks, cartridges.

    As I remember my first game on a cartridge was Mario, which I played very often, but I never completed the game, because the game did not have the ability to save game status. Getting new game cartridges wasn't as easy and convenient as it is now, where we have the Internet and various gaming platforms and we can easily buy new games, but back then there were only two ways to get a game cartridge. One way was to borrow or exchange with friends or buy a cartridge at the market from merchants. Game prices back then ranged from 2 PLN to 5 for a cartridge, but you could bargain and buy cheaper.

    Then came time for a computer, which was not a monster like current gaming machines, as far as I can remember it had a Geforce 2 graphics card and 512mb of memory. A mega powerful graphics card, right, but at the time if someone had a similar card but with 1024mb of memory it was the king of the neighborhood.

    And the official first game on the computer was Sapper and Solitaire - games that were built in, then it was time for GTA 3. I admit that the computer had quite a few problems with the proper operation of the game. Barely barely, but on the lowest graphic settings it was possible to play. Next came the time for Gothic from Piranha Bytes studio. Game I come back to often for its brilliant story, atmosphere and music. (There will be a separate article about Gothic, which will appear soon).

    The next productions were: Pharaoh and Cleopatra, Zeus the Lord of Olympus, Gothic 2 with the addition of Night of the Raven, and when I already had the Internet the time came for Gothic 3 and the first part of The Witcher. In the meantime there were also network games like: Metin, Age of Wulin, as well as browser games like Plemiona or Travian. These are the games that made me interested in the world of gaming and became a passion that I like to share with you by running this blog.
